Description
Speed up the restoration of that classic shotgun or rifle by replacing a worn, chipped, or cracked buttplate with an affordable, grind-to-fit replacement of moldable polyurethane resin. Durable resin looks and feels like the hard rubber, Bakelite, or black plastic used for the original buttplates on many of these guns, and will not shrink, swell, or crack over time. Proprietary molding process uses the highest-quality molds engineered to prevent unsightly “flash†and air bubbles on the finished product. Grinds easily without flaking or fracturing. Includes fine-line, horizontal serrations often found on period buttplates, but without the tricky borders that make grinding the sides difficult. Heat briefly in boiling water or microwave to soften the resin so it can be molded to the contour of your stock; the shape sets up well once cooled and is extremely durable. Drilled and counterbored to accept two #12 buttplate screws, available separately.
