Hornady 7MM PRC(Precision Rifle Cartridge)Designed for a maximum cartridge overall length of 3.340″ to utilize todays high BC bullets for standard long action rifiles. 1:8″ twist rate to stabilize the heaviest 7mm bullets. Target muzzle velocity of 3000fps from a 24″ test barrel using 160gr, 175gr and 180gr bullets. Non-belted, shoulder headspacing cartridge resulting in good chamber alignment. Cartridge case chamber designed concurrently with the same design methodology as the 6.5 Creedmoor results in excellent and repeatable accuracy performance. Cartridge case purposefully designed to use common, temperature stable magnum speed propellants yielding extremely consistent velocity, and increased barrel life when compared to currently available large magnums. Existing rifles chambered in 7mm Rem Mag and 300 Win Mag can be converted to 7mm PRC with a simple barrel swap.
