Of all the AR-15s on the market, probably none is more recognizable than those based on the iconic M16 rifle, originally produced by Colt. Now, the company is offering the same barrel profile as its original M16 design, giving builders a new barrel option and providing owners with an OEM replacement for their worn-out rifles.Each Colt M16 Barrel, chambered in 5.56 NATO, features six-groove rifling with a 1:7-inch rate of twist. The barrels include M4-style feed ramps and have a chrome lining that prevents corrosion. Each barrel is set up for a carbine-length gas system and features 1/2″”-28 TPI threading at the muzzle.Colt’s LE6933 AR-15 Barrels are produced in 20-inch lengths and are only available as a stripped barrel, complete with barrel extension.
