The barrel lining is made from match-grade 416R stainless steel and is measured to a tolerance of/- .0001. Currently offered for Remington 700 actions only 416R Stainless steel core button rifled. Includes muzzle end thread protector. Weight estimate: between 2lb to 2lb 15oz. Both Sporter and Target barrels start at 1.20″ diameter and finish at .920″ and have the same internal steel core. Sporter barrels taper off quickly, therefore being lighter for hunting situations, while Target barrels taper gradually, making them more rigid and ideal for long range target shooting.
