BA takes the 14.5″ 300 Blackout pistol-length barrel through the quench-polish-quench (QPQ) case-hardening process. This increases the corrosion resistance and lasts longer than the traditional chrome lining found in other barrels. The M4 feed ramp is also QPQ treated for the best performance. The muzzle is 5/8 x 24 threaded, so add a can to get maximum performance from the subsonic rounds. The Modern Series 300 Blackout pistol barrel uses a .750″ gas block and weighs 27 ounces.

About QPQ Finish
Quench Polish Quench (QPQ) is a specialized type of nitrocarburizing case hardening that increases corrosion resistance. It is sometimes known by the brand name of Tufftride, Tenifer or Melonite. QPQ is a huge improvement over Chrome Lined barrels. Unlike chrome lining, where the chrome is built up on the surface, QPQ converts the surface without the risk of dimensional build up.
