Features: This Aero Precision .223 Wylde 16 Fluted Stainless Steel Barrel has a deeply cut fluted design that drops almost a pound from the overall weight of the barrel. This leaves the weight at about 27 ounces and doesn t affect the accuracy at all. The fluting also gives the barrel more rigidity, strength, and it looks pretty slick. It’s built from solid 416R Stainless Steel and its bead blasted along its entire length. The muzzle end of the barrel has a 1/2×28 TPI thread pattern for using almost any standard muzzle device. The barrel features 1:8 button rifling inside, meaning the bullet makes one full rotation every 8 inches while inside the barrel. It comes from the factory with a 0.0785 diameter gas port as a part of the mid-length gas system. The gas journal on this barrel is the standard .750 diameter so it will fit most gas blocks. The barrel itself has the SPR or Special Purpose Rifle profile. The barrel extension has M4 feed ramps cut into it with a Nickel Boron coating for reduced friction and wear resistance. The popular .223 Wylde chamber cut gives the owner 2 cartridge options: the 5.56×45 NATO and the .223 Remington. These barrels are always put through MPI/HPT (Magnetic Particle Inspection/High Pressure Testing) quality control checks and held to the highest standards.
