These full-power 12 gauge shotshells from Winchester fire nine pellets of 00 buckshot and perform well against both thin-skinned game and human assailants if over-penetration is not a concern. A muzzle velocity of 1,325 feet per second results in good patterning and stiff recoil, although this is mitigated by the shell’s one-piece hinged wad.
