These lighter projectiles typically fly with 13% more muzzle velocity than 1 ounce slugs and deliver up to 200 foot-pounds more energy to the target as well.
rEach slug has rifling which imparts spin on the projectile when fired through a smoothbore shotgun barrel in order to achieve greater distance and accuracy. When the exposed lead slug impacts a target it will experience some slight expansion with a focus on deep penetration.
