This 40 S&W cartridge from Remington Golden Saber features a very special 165 grain JHP. Its jacket is made of brass instead of traditional copper, and as the result is a lot harder than usual. This greatly benefits the bullet’s ability to defeat a barrier — even two sheets of 20 gauge steel can’t take more than one percent of its weight away from it. As the BJHP burrows within its target, it consistently postpones expansion until it enters the vital area. At that point its spiral cut serrations cause it to open up, consistently to wider than the ideal set forth by the FBI test protocol, to cause massive cavitation.
rThis round is a great choice for self-defense when it’s dark out. Its propellant is specially formulated to produce very little muzzle flash, so your eyes won’t become unaccustomed to the dark. Its brass casing is plated with shiny nickel that facilitates a chamber check. Low friction nickel also helps a semi-auto feed and extract more easily, and in conjunction with this round’s sealed primer and mouth protects against corrosive elements.
