Description
The match-grade projectiles from Sierra are perfect for handloaders who regularly practice their long range skills or even compete at annual events. With a diameter of .338 inches and a weight 250 grains, these MatchKing projectiles are perfect for crafting cartridges in .338-378 Weatherby Magnum or .338 RUM and may even be used for medium loads in .338 Lapua. Sierra puts each bullet through a stringent inspection process which ensures that weight is no more than 0.3 grains different from the label. MatchKing projectiles possess a hollow-point and a tapered boat tail rear (HPBT) that helps shrug off air resistance for slick, slipstream flight.
r
These HPBT bullets are built by taking a uniform copper jacket and feeding lead wire through its cavity mouth in order to create a core of unmarred integrity. This also ensures the most precise jacket dimensions possible and contributes to sub-MOA accuracy with the right load and firearm quality. While the projectile profile has been proven by military snipers and has a hollow tip, it is not recommended for hunting use as it has proven to create an excessive wound cavity that unnecessarily destroys edible game meat. Sierra Bullets, headquartered in Sedalia, Missouri, has been around since 1947 and has developed an incredible reputation for consistent products. Their innovative projectile designs are so effective that they have been mimicked by other companies, included in commercial recipes, and specifically requested for combat applications.
