rWe’d never be so bold as to claim this is the most accurate 6.5 Grendel ammunition you could buy. But if you’re looking for something that can help you group tighter shots, upgrading from an FMJ to an HPBT will give you a leg up. The HPBT’s core and jacket both possess superior balance. That helps keep the bullet’s tip pointed straight at its target. Its boat tail just makes the HPBT more ballistically efficient (G1 0.403; G7 0.203; 24†test bbl), which brings a flatter trajectory and better wind resistance.
rWord to the wise (aka you): the HPBT may have a hollow point, but its terminal ballistics aren’t analogous to those of a JHP. Its thin jacket doesn’t equip the HPBT for very deep penetration, and its hollow point doesn’t deliver terminal expansion. Good enough for Wile E., but not for Bambi.
