This quality 5.56 NATO (5.56x45mm) ammunition is factory fresh from Federal Lake City. Located in Independence, Missouri, Lake City Ammunition Plant has been testing and manufacturing small caliber ammo for the United States Army since 1941.
This bulk package contains 500 loose packed rounds. Each cartridge is loaded with a 62 grain green tip steel penetrator full metal jacket projectile. These unique bullets are designed for increased penetration at longer ranges and features a cannelure and boat-tail configuration for increased accuracy. Each round also features a non-corrosive boxer primer. Both the primer and the reloadable brass case is sealed for extra moisture protection, make them a reliable choice for long-term storage. Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 3020 feet per second, each round generates 1255 foot pounds of muzzle energy. These cartridges have a head stamp of 2011 – 2012 and are well-suited for target shooting and tactical applications.
