rThis shell has a seriously high muzzle velocity thanks to its lightweight projectile: 1,500 fps, which is why it’s able to arrive at a close-range target with well over 500 ft lbs of kinetic energy. Arguably a little too weak for whitetail, although ultimately that’s your determination to make. But if you’re shooting targets or combatting varmints, a ~109 grain slug is sure to do the trick!
