Fiocchi chose to load these rounds with Hornady’s XTP (eXtreme Terminal Performance) bullet due to its reliability and effective terminal performance. XTP hollow points feature six serrations designed to weaken the jacket and allow controlled expansion at low velocities. These bullets also feature a swaged core and drawn copper jacket which ensures uniform expansion and stability in flight.
This ammunition is non-corrosive, boxer primed, and loaded with reliable, clean-burning powders. Cases are nickel-plated brass, allowing for reliable feeding and smooth chamber extraction in modern semi-automatics. These bright cases also facilitate low light loading and chamber checks. Each round produces a muzzle velocity of 950 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 360 foot pounds.
