Description
One measly box of 223 Rem ammo has never been enough for a real AR-15 enthusiast. You need a whole case of ammo to get into the zone – and whether that zone entails target shooting or varmint and predator hunting, Winchester’s Super-X line of ammo will have you covered.
rThis cartridge features the versatile 55 grain boat tail hollow point projectile. First things first: The BTHP is not an expanding bullet. Its terminal performance is comparable to that of a simple FMJ, so it’s a poor choice for taking game larger than a coyote.
rInstead, the BTHP emphasizes accuracy. It does this courtesy of its thin and evenly drawn jacket, its voidless lead core which closely conforms to the interior contours of said jacket, and its slightly angled boat tail. Its sloping base helps the BTHP generate less in-flight drag, enabling it to keep a flatter trajectory as well as ward off the detrimental effects of cross and vertical winds.
rWinchester doesn’t lower their production costs by loading steel components – this is nonmagnetic ammo. It is also non-corrosive, and thanks to its uniform brass cases this 500-round brick of ammo makes a great investment in your future handloading endeavors.
