Description
The Barnaul Cartridge Plant – or БарнаульÑкий патронный завод, for our Russian-speaking friends – specializes in manufacturing steel-cased ammunition. This ammo does indeed have steel cases, which helps to reduce its price at the expense of making it non-reloadable. But Barnaul has additionally plated this ammo’s cases in brass, thus making it easier for an AR-15 to cycle, resist corrosion better, and in our opinion look a little prettier as well.
rBarnaul continues to keep their prices wallet-friendly by loading magnetic bullets. This ammo’s 55 grain FMJ bullets have bimetal jackets, which are predominantly steel with a thin copper wash exterior. The steel is softer than your barrel, so you’re not risking damage to your firearm by running this ammo through it, but you can also be certain that this ammo is magnetic.
rThis is new production ammo, not military surplus from decades past. As such its Berdan primers are completely noncorrosive and will not damage your firearm without special cleaning. A great way to get your hours in at the range when you’re trying to keep a budget!
