This 40 S&W cartridge by Fiocchi features Hornady’s 180 grain XTP. It’s a bullet designed in every way to be as lethal as possible, and perfect if you carry a pistol for personal protection. The XTP’s jacket is meticulously engineered. It is divided into precise serrations that control expansion even at lower velocities, varies in thickness throughout its entire length to promote even expansion, and shields the lead in its nose cavity to promote smooth feeding as well as facilitate penetration. It is also exceptionally concentric, which in conjunction with the XTP’s uniform swaged lead core delivers heightened accuracy. Fiocchi is a great company to work with so advanced a self-defense projectile, and gave this round the premium components it needs (including a nickel plated brass casing) to be effective in the field, but without charging too much for the service.
