These black-hulled target loads moonlight as upland game shells and are excellent for taking clay pigeons and upland birds alike. Each of these 12 gauge shells is assembled from Winchester’s finest components including high energy propellant, consistently igniting 209 primers, highly durable hulls, and Winchester’s AA wad. The AA wad is unique in design and cushions felt recoil while optimizing muzzle velocity, tightening shot patterns, and extending the effective range of your shot cloud. This is accomplished by the wad’s pressure sealing powder end, collapsing center, and front-facing petal walls which reduce pellet flattening.
rThis 12 gauge load calls for one ounce of #8 lead shot which has been hardened for more positive clay breaks as well as for better ballistic performance against quail, ptarmigan, and grouse. Hardened pellets also resist deformation in the muzzle which could lead to erratic fliers and less effective hits. Winchester ammunition is made in the United States with the intent to serve early morning hunters, late shift law enforcement officers, and all day shooting enthusiasts.
