Each shell is loaded with a lighter 1 ounce column of shot, and charged up with enough powder to deliver a relatively tepid muzzle velocity of 1,200 fps. Recoil impulse is smoothed out even further by the Podium wad: a one-piece plastic construct with a vertical ring in its center that squashes down during ignition.
rThe Podium also helps the #7.5 shot stay rounder, but the pellets don’t need that much help in that regard. The little lead beads are fortified with 5% antimony, which hardens them without robbing them of too much density and downrange momentum as a result.
