Description
This massive 3-1/2 inch shell uses a high-energy propellant charge and specialized shot pellets for great performance on wetland birds at long distances. Each 12 gauge shotshell is ignited by Federal’s Catalyst primer which is lead-free and helps to keep smoothbore barrels cleaner. The primer sits in a black nickel-plated head which is nearly impervious to degradation and is attached to a moisture-resistant plastic hull with a strong crimp.
rInside the hull is 1-1/2 ounces of #2 sized steel shot pellets, 40% of which have the sharp Flitestopper belt for increased energy transfer in big geese. Steel shot pellets present less longterm damage to the environment and are permitted for use in lead-free hunting areas. Federal’s Flitecontrol Flex wad protects the shot from flattening and exits the barrel while containing the shot, keeping it more tightly grouped until the shot exits the wad in a dense, effective cloud. The Flitecontrol Flex wad can be safely fired through a number of 12 gauge chokes including those with ventilation ports.
