Description
Hornady Subsonic 9mm ammunition is optimal for any suppressed handgun or carbine you could choose for home defense – but it’s also poised to give unsuppressed firearms a softer report and less muzzle flash, too!
rThis round’s 975 fps muzzle velocity is fairly typical for a 147 grain load. That’s 150 fps short of subsonic, so it’s going to produce comparably less noise on ignition. This round’s propellant is also blended to emit less light as it burns up, which will actually enhance your performance. Duller light helps keep your eyes from shifting out of night vision mode, so you’ll have an easier time seeing what you’re aiming at in a dark environment.
rHornady’s XTP brand jacketed hollow point is designed for outstanding reliability. Its jacket is notched around the rim and gets thicker toward the base of the buller – two features which promote more uniform expansion, even during lower velocity penetration. The XTP’s jacket is drawn to fully surround the nose cavity, which serves to prevent deformation before it can negatively impact smooth feeding or terminal expansion.
rThis ammo is loaded in Nebraska with premium brass cases and Boxer primers. If you only use it for varmint hunting, make sure you still save those reloadable cases!
