This 20 Gauge shotshell by Rio Ammunition is loaded with nine pellets of #1 buck. Cracking one of these shells open will reveal just how uniform each .30†diameter pellet’s weight and diameter really are — that along with their hardness will provide you with the dense pattern you need to drop any number of targets. You’ll find that this shell will really open up opportunities to hunt in areas where dense foliage would have easily deflected a rifle bullet’s trajectory. That suits it especially well for hunting whitetail, although we’d shudder to imagine the home intruder who wouldn’t be stopped dead in their tracks by even a couple of this shell’s pellets. That it’s less able to penetrate walls suits #1 buck well for home defense where you’ve got neighbors to consider.
rThis shell is manufactured in Marshall, TX. That’s also the birthplace of legendary boxer and grill enthusiast George Foreman, although the only thing this shell and Mr. Foreman share in common is that you wouldn’t want either of them to hit you. Rio is a subsidiary of Spanish explosives firm MAXAM, which traces its roots all the way back to Alfred Nobel. They can rightly claim to know how to make things that go boom.
