Description
Here we have a quintessential 20 Gauge shell for hunters and home defenders alike: Remington’s Slugger! This cheerful yellow cylinder packs a 5/8 ounce punch in the form of a very potent hollow point rifled slug.
rThis shell’s slug leaves the average shotgun’s muzzle at a velocity of 1,580 fps. That gives it a quadruple digit foot-pound force up to 41 yards, and 644 ft lbs of energy at 100 yards. When a lead hollow point slug meets with resistance from soft tissue over a range of terminal velocities, it begins expanding outward to shed tremendous energy while simultaneously excavating a gaping wound cavity within its target. Do note that this rifled slug is intended for smoothbore barrels, making it a fine choice for many compact home defense style shotguns such as the Mossberg 590 Shockwave or Remington Model 870 TAC-14. (Expect lower muzzle velocities from such shorter barrel shotguns.)
rRemington doesn’t just make this shell’s hull yellow – they make it sturdy and easy for a pump or semi-auto to reliably feed as well. This shell’s clean burning propellant and primer both help your boomstick to continue functioning correctly in the field.
