The Hydra-Shok Deep projectile reliably penetrates ballistic gel to a depth of 15 inches, a distance determined ideal by modern FBI protocol and which minimizes the risk of overpenetration. This cartridge further offers a brass casing, which is plated with nickel in order to make feeding and ejection smoother, as well as to make it more visible during chamber checks in darkened environments.
