Description
Want to see what kind of 7.62×51 ammunition Israeli military snipers use in their delicate line of work? IMI Systems is the IDF’s primary small arms ammo supplier, and this is what they make for sharpshooters!
rThis cartridge is loaded with a heavyweight 175 grain projectile. It retains even greater momentum than the 168 grain alternative, so you’ll be able to thumb your nose at crosswinds. The bullet itself is an open tip match, with a precision copper jacket and voidless, form-fitted lead core. So rotationally stable a bullet excels at keeping its meplat pointed at the target hundreds of yards downrange!
rIs this ammo good for hunting? Varmints, yes, but the OTM bullet’s complete inability to deliver terminal expansion as it passes through soft tissue makes it a poor choice for medium-size game. (We suppose a good marksman could slip an OTM between a hog’s cervical vertebrae to good effect, though.) This ammo’s new brass cases are loaded with highly consistent match Boxer primers and clean-burning powder. Suitable for 308 rifles too!
