Description
This 7.62×39 cartridge from Silver Bear is manufactured at the historic Barnaul Cartridge Plant in Russia, and accordingly features a cost-effective yet non-reloadable steel casing. It’s still a fine casing — its mouth sports red sealant to keep its powder nice and dry, and it’s also dressed with nickel plating in order to help it resist corrosion and cycle smoothly through a semi-automatic weapon. Unlike lacquer, zinc plating won’t leave any kind of residue behind on the parts that it touches, even when superheated.
rThis round sports a 123 grain projectile, just like the original Soviet M43 cartridges had. The bullet has a full metal jacket, so it’ll penetrate the worst that your plinking range has to throw in its way. This round further offers a non-corrosive Berdan primer, yet another reason you won’t be reloading it, but it will preserve your rifle’s action and bore and also last for a very long time in storage.
