Description
A lot of our customers want to know if ammo is American made before they care to know anything else about it. We’re happy to say Winchester USA ammo answers that question right in its name!
rThis is new production M193 ammo, made to military specs specifically for the civilian market. It’s loaded with a 55 grain FMJ bullet, which is by FAR the most popular type of projectile for AR-15 rifles. An FMJ’s place is on the range because it doesn’t expand when it hits soft tissue, so it creates a smaller wound channel and wastes more terminal energy on overpenetration. But when you’re just handling targets at the range, an FMJ’s reliable and cost-effective design cannot be beat.
rSee how this ammo’s brass cases look a little funky in the photo? That’s not because they’re reloads or because they’ve been sitting around for too long. Winchester heat-treats these brass cases for greater durability, but they do not polish the brass after the induction heating process. It doesn’t look quite as pretty, but that’s the only setback.
