The 200 gr FTX bullet leaves the muzzle of Smith’s new 460 XVR (eXtreme Velocity Revolver) at an amazing 2200 fps. The 200 gr FTX is from the same line of projectiles used in Hornady’s Leverevolution series, providing a spitzer-style polymer tipped round that gains velocity over standard flat point bullets. It delivers ultra high velocity, flat trajectory and devastating terminal performance. The premium polymer tip is for more than just looks. First, it optimizes the ballistic coefficient of the projectile and moves the center of gravity toward the rear of the bullet for better in-flight stability, which greatly increases the bullet’s long-range capabilities. Then, when the bullet strikes the target, the tip is driven into the core providing a rapid transfer of energy and a deep devastating wound channel.
