This lightweight .45 ACP load from Quantum Ammunition is an all-new take on personal defense ammunition which utilizes innovative materials and creative construction. Rounds from the Inceptor line are assembled using conventional components like a non-corrosive Boxer primer, a standard pressure powder charge, and a reloadable brass casings which are topped off with the proprietary ARX projectile. The ARX bullet has three flutes in its ogive but shares its outline shape with conventional FMJ rounds which ensures seamless feeding in handguns that disagree with hollow-point designs.
rUnlike traditional copper jacketed lead, an ARX bullet is molded from a mixture of metal and polymer which breaks up when encountering hard surfaces and is extremely light in every caliber. For example, these .45 Auto projectiles weigh 118 grains but travel at dramatically greater speeds in order to deliver the same amount of energy as most 230 grain loads. This increased velocity also powers the three flutes which work like a turbine while traveling through a threat in order to completely disperse the ARX’s energy in radial pattern around the projectile, creating a large wound channel.
