This 45-70 Govt ammo by Remington is a hefty cartridge designed for hunting large game. Remington loads these cartridges with 405gr. soft point (SP) bullets. This ammo is included in Remington’s Core-Lokt line, which means each bullet’s jacket has been mechanically joined to the core to reduce the chance of core/jacket separation. This process improves overall weight retention for better penetration of soft tissue. The SP expands slowly while the bullet burrows deep, causing devastating impact and impressive knockdown power. These bullets have a moderate muzzle velocity of 1,600, and a corresponding energy transfer of 2,302 ft/lb. Remington uses new production brass casings for this 45-70 Gov’t ammo that are Boxer-primed and reloadable. r*Please note these are full pressure loads.
