Each of these factory fresh .416 Ruger cartridges is loaded with a hefty 400 grain DGX (Dangerous Game eXpanding) projectile. Designed to expand up to twice the original diameter, DGX bullets feature a copper-clad steel jacket bonded to a lead core. Bonding the jacket to the core prevents separation from high-energy impact on the tough bone structure of large and dangerous game animals. This produces maximum weight retention for deep penetration and hard-hitting energy transfer.
This non-corrosive ammunition features reliable boxer primers and powders that are carefully matched to each load, ensuring optimal pressure and velocity. Hornady Dangerous Game rounds also feature high-quality, reloadable brass cases. Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 2400 feet per second, each round generates 5115 foot pounds of game-dropping muzzle energy. This ammunition comes packed in 20-round boxes.
