These .375 Ruger rounds are an awesome choice for your next Safari trip or in any venue where you can expect to take on large and dangerous game animals. This ammunition is manufactured by Hornady, an American company with approximately seven decades of experience designing innovative projectiles and assembling custom ammunition. This particular load uses a 300-grain Dangerous Game Expanding (DGX) projectile which has a lead core with a thick steel jacket complemented with a copper outer jacket. The bullet is also equipped with a toothed cannelure at its center a flat, exposed lead surface at its head. As a result, this bullet penetrates deep into thick-skinned game before experiencing a controlled rate of mushrooming expansion in order to promote faster bleeding and efficient energy transfer.
rThe 300 grain round, one of the heaviest in the .375 Ruger caliber, is protected from separation by the bonded steel jacket and ribbed cannelure in order to ensure that the full brunt of energy reaches vital organs in order to stop a charging elephant in its tracks. In additon, the cannelure keeps the bullet securely crimped in its reloadable brass casing for optimal accuracy and reduced chance of malfunctions. Inside the case rests a measure of Hornady’s Superformance powder which burns cleanly and produces ample muzzle velocity for flat trajectories at long range. Each round will experience consistent ignition from a hand-selected non-corrosive Boxer primer.
