Description
It’s kind of ironic, when you really think about it. If you build a big enough ark, you can save every animal on earth from extinction. But if you build a big enough stockpile of 338 ARC ammunition, you can hunt every animal on earth to extinction (with obvious exceptions, such as whales, and elephants which would promptly stomp you down for not bringing enough gun).
rIf you’re considering hunting a select few representatives of the medium game category – or defending yourself, while making as little noise as you can in the process – then you couldn’t have found better 338 ARC ammo for the job. This ammo loves suppressors because its muzzle velocity is bona fide subsonic. It is also loaded with the Sub-X, which reliably undergoes expansion at velocities as low as 900 fps (which the 0.375 G1 BC bullet can sustain until around 300 yards, if fired from a 16†barrel).
rHow does the Sub-X do it? When its flat nose collides with flesh, its Flex Tip insert compresses and pushes outward against the walls of the nose cavity. The surrounding jacket wears a series of symmetrical grooves, which allow it to split apart evenly as it yields to wide expansion. Brilliant!
rDon’t be a Noah. Be a Yesa, and say “You betcha!†to Hornady Subsonic!
