Description
From its azure polymer tip to its silvery case, this is one beautiful 300 Winchester Magnum cartridge. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To large game, Federal’s best is actually the worst!
rThis round’s 200 grain Terminal Ascent projectile delivers stellar accuracy. In addition to initiating expansion following relatively low impact velocities, the Slipstream tip forms a low-drag meplat which promotes a flatter, more wind resistant trajectory. The Terminal Ascent also minimizes drag via its AccuChannel groove technology and optimal boat tail angulation. It all adds up to a bullet with a G1 0.608/G7 0.304 ballistic coefficient, which translates to supersonic velocity beyond 1,900 yards – just over one mile!
rThe Slipstream tip presses into the Terminal Ascent’s core to let loose dramatic terminal expansion across a broad spectrum of velocities. The bullet’s dense core and copper shank are bonded to one another, so it can be trusted to remain intact enough for deep penetration at closer ranges.
rOnly a nickel-plated brass case is worthy of so high-tech a bullet. Nickel protects the cartridge from corrosion caused by rain and humidity, and also reduces friction to facilitate more reliable cycling.
