The 30-06 Spring was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1906, and was used as their primary cartridge for nearly 50 years. In addition to veterans’ familiarity with the cartridge, its balance of manageable recoil, velocity, and accuracy has made it popular for range training and deer hunting until this day.
