Each new production .270 Winchester Short Mag cartridge is loaded with a 130 grain XP3 polymer-tipped projectile. The XP3 bullet is founded on a two-stage expansion and combines the best of Winchester’s bullet technology into a single projectile design. The design features a bonded core, ballistic tip, and a Lubalox-coated boat tail configuration. The Lubalox coating reduces barrel fouling and engraving force. The polymer tip teams with the boat tail profile to improve accuracy, and the bonded core preserves projectile weight for hard-hitting energy transfer.
This ammunition is non-corrosive, boxer primed, and features nickel-plated brass cases for reliable feeding, function, and extraction. Each round produces a consistent muzzle velocity of 3120 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 33242 foot pounds. These loads are well-suited for a variety of hunting situations and perform well on whitetails, antelope, elk, and even moose and large African game. Each package contains 20 factory fresh rounds.
