rThe CX also features what Hornady calls “optimum groove geometry,†which further reduces fouling before it enhances the bullet’s ballistic efficiency. The CX’s Heat Shield tip will not deform once it has been accelerated to nearly Mach 3 velocity, thus assuring the bullet retains its sharp and aerodynamic meplat. Its 0.273 G1 ballistic coefficient reflects the 80 grain CX’s ability to drop to just -6.95†at 300 yards upon passing a 200-yard zero. The Heat Shield tip isn’t just accuracy-enhancing.
