Description
This 223 Rem cartridge from Federal’s Law Enforcement line of ammunition features a 55 grain bonded soft point projectile. The inseparability of the bullet’s jacket and core means that it can pass through most any common barrier without losing a significant amount of its energy or potential for expansion. In ballistic gel tests, this bullet can pass through thick fabric and plywood alike without losing even one grain of its weight, and even through tougher wall board, steel, and safety glass it fares remarkably well. If you keep an AR-15 ready to go for home defense, few bullets can assure you better terminal performance when you’re uncertain of what you’ll be up against.
rThis round’s brass casing is very substantial, able to endure intense chamber pressures and suitable for up to five handloads. Federal gave this round a primer that is reliable enough to ensure you won’t greet a home intruder with a dud in your chamber, and propellant that delivers a muzzle velocity of nearly three times the speed of sound.
