Description
Does your AR not go pew when you want it to go pew? We think we see your problem. You ran out of 223 Rem ammunition. Fortunately we have the fix: more 223 Rem ammunition!
rFederal Premium’s American Eagle line of ammo is perfect for all your high-volume target shooting needs. This cartridge is loaded with a 62 grain full metal jacket boat tail projectile. The bullet is steel-free and incapable of attracting a magnet. If you want to train with 5.56 M855 ammo but frequent a range which prohibits “magnetic†ammo, then these cartridges are the ideal solution.
rThis round’s heavier bullet is the reason for its comparably slower 3,020 fps muzzle velocity, but the FMJBT’s sleek profile, low-drag boat tail and greater mass all contribute to its higher 0.307 G1 ballistic coefficient. Those stats mean the bullet’s trajectory should peak at about 0.53†if you’re gunning for a 100-yard target (or 2.38†if you’re gunning for a 200-yard target), which is not quite as flat as a 55 grain bullet’s trajectory. That said, the heavier bullet is a great choice if you’re firing outdoors and want a little extra protection against wind drift.
rThis isn’t old military surplus that has been kicking around since Reagan was eating jelly beans in the Oval Office. Its shiny brass cases are new and reloadable, and its noncorrosive Boxer primers are nicely protected by thin films of sealant.
