rThis cartridge is equipped with Hornady’s 135 grain MonoFlex. It is the Nebraskan manufacturer’s proprietary monolithic copper alloy hollow point bullet. As such it’s unable to deposit lead residue in a barrel’s rifling, so it maintains a firearm’s accuracy. It’s also nontoxic, so it’s legal for hunting wherever lead is barred.
rThe MonoFlex is also resilient as all get out! The tough copper alloy bullet loses no more than five percent of its weight as it smashes through muscle and bone, so it hangs on to the weight that deep penetration requires.
rLook into the MonoFlex’s nose cavity and you will see it is filled with black elastomer. This substance squashes inward throughout penetration, which helps the hollow point bullet to expand wider and more reliably. So powerful a round has quite a potent terminal effect when it has elastomer working in its favor.
