rThis cartridge is loaded with Federal’s state-of-the-art 124 grain HST jacketed hollow point. “HST†doesn’t actually stand for anything – but you stand to gain a huge advantage during a life-or-death altercation because of it.
rThe HST does not have a bonded jacket. Even so, it is rugged enough to pass through a variety of common urban barriers without shedding a significant portion of its weight. In addition to penetrating to an effective depth for defensive applications, the HST also expands reliably. That’s largely thanks to its nose cavity, which is optimized to prevent fabric and other debris from obstructing it.
rThe HST doesn’t do all the work. Federal’s low-flash propellant prevents your first shot from blinding you in the dark. Their nickel-plated brass cases prevent corrosion from causing feeding jams, and even help make the ammo more visible in the chamber.
