This 9mm cartridge is from Federal’s Syntech Defense ammo line, and its 138 grain projectile is particularly lethal. A segmented hollow point, it will split off into four separate pieces during penetration: the core, which reliably burrows up to 18 inches in its target, even if it’s protected by thick fabric, and three segments, each of which create their own distinct 6 inch or deeper wound channel. It’s not a pleasant thought, what such a bullet would do to a threat — but it’s more pleasant than what a threat could do to you or your own.

rThis round’s bullet features Federal’s proprietary Syntech jacket. It’s made of polymer rather than copper, and accordingly will be much gentler on your weapon’s riflings than a traditional jacket could have been. It deposits less fouling as well. This cartridge further offers Federal’s Catalyst, an exceptionally hot burning primer that almost instantaneously ignites its entire propellant charge for a fast and reliable muzzle velocity of 1,050 fps.
