Description
This 223 Rem range ammunition isn’t meant for regular plinking and target shooting. It’s true match grade materiel, and designed to exhibit outstanding accuracy no matter the rifle you’re firing. You will want a barrel with a 1:8â€, 1:7†or 1:6†rate of twist in order to sufficiently stabilize so massive a 77 grain bullet, but so long as you have that you are golden!
rThis ammunition is loaded at Fiocchi’s factory in Ozark, MO – but its bullets actually hail from Sedalia, MO. They are Sierra’s MatchKings: precision hollow point boat tails which feature precision-drawn copper jackets, sleek profiles, and drag-minimizing boat tails. The MatchKing’s nose cavity is proof that its lead core was injection molded, which markedly enhances the projectile’s rotational stability. (MatchKing bullets will not undergo terminal expansion and are suboptimal for hunting medium game.)
rThe 77gr MatchKing has a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.362. Once it attains a muzzle velocity of 2,725 fps, its trajectory to 300 yards will elevate by just 6.42†(assuming your rifle’s sights are set 1.5†high). Upon passing a 300-yard zero, the MatchKing will proceed to drop to -14.45†at 400 yards.
rFiocchi’s factory-loaded 223 Rem ammunition showcases their best brass cases, primers and propellant. Once those MatchKings have all gone bye-bye, you’ll still have excellent reloadable cases to work with.
