rThis cartridge is loaded with the 53 grain V-MAX, a bullet which Hornady specially engineered for walloping small game. Before it does anything else, the V-MAX delivers great accuracy. The little bullet’s polymer tip neatly pierces through the air, and its match grade Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket and swaged lead core both keep it gyroscopically stable throughout its flat trajectory.
rCut a V-MAX lengthwise and you’d see how its polymer tip sits on the rim of its jacket and how its shaft extends deep down into its core’s cylindrical nose cavity. The tip destroys both of the V-MAX’s metallic components immediately following impact, thus setting off the massive and deadly terminal fragmentation the bullet is so famous for!
