PMC’s X-TAC brand is a perfect way for shooters to get high grade M855 5.56mm ammunition from a well-known NATO supplier. These rounds are constructed to exacting military specification and include annealed brass casings which form a proper chamber seal when fired and prevent neck splitting and cracking for reloaders’ safety. Each casing is equipped with a non-corrosive Boxer primer which is bordered by sealant for moisture protection and hardened for compatibility with the free-floating firing pin of the AR-15/M16 platform.

The projectile used in this load is a 62 grain full metal jacket (FMJ) bullet with a mild steel penetrating core and boat tail rear for drag resistance and improved accuracy. Precision is enhanced again by the bullet’s toothed cannelure which prevents setback caused by repeat chambering and rough handling. This cartridge mirrors the very same round used by the U.S. military (and other NATO forces) for nearly four decades; that means that this round is well supported by ballistic tables, zeroing methods, and ballistic drop compensating reticles which are widely available and well-studied.

As part of a self-sufficient munitions program, all of PMC’s components are fabricated in-house for unrivaled quality control and dependability. These rounds are marked by a recognizable green tip for easy identification. Each battle pack consists of a polyurethane wrapper which forms a watertight seal over six 20-round boxes for safe storage and easy transport.
