rWhy will this ammo attract a magnet? Because it is 5.56×45 SS109 – the same as what we would call “M855†here in America. Although the 62 grain full metal jacket bullet does not wear green paint on its tip, the front half of its otherwise lead core is made of solid steel. This insert is known as the “penetrator†because it makes the bullet hard enough to reliably penetrate sheet metal at ranges well beyond 500 yards. The M855 bullet’s slightly greater weight also helps it to resist getting blown off course by crosswinds – a welcome advantage to accuracy while you’re stretching your aim out over a few hundred yards.rZQI ammunition is made by MKE, a Turkish defense contractor whose roots extend all the way back to the 15th century. While several ZQI products are steel-cased and Berdan-primed, these rounds feature new and reloadable brass cases and noncorrosive Boxer primers. Each round’s primer is protected against water infiltration by green sealant.
