Description
This is a long 12 Gauge shotshell at 3 1/2 inches, and for good reason. As a Winchester Long Beard XR, its two ounces of #6 shot needs a little extra accommodation to make room for the hard, clear resin that it’s suspended in. It’s called Shot-Lok, and it shatters completely upon ignition to provide a highly capable buffering material. Because this copper plated lead shot is so well protected against deformation as it hurtles down the barrel, it is able to establish and maintain an exceptionally tight pattern upon exiting the muzzle.
rIt’s easy to appreciate the difference that such round shot provides in the field. It penetrates up to ten percent deeper than standard lead shot could have at 50 yards, and twice as much of it can strike a ten inch target at 60. It’s performance comparable to what premium, tungsten shot would have provided, but for the price of lead. The turkeys will applaud you for saving so much money!
