Description
This box of 9mm ammunition by Federal actually comprises two different cartridges: Syntech Training Match and HST. While they are designed for practice and self-defense, respectively, both rounds deliver essentially identical muzzle velocities, trajectories, and points of impact with their 147 grain bullets. If you train with the Syntech, you’ll necessarily get better at firing the HST.
rSyntech loads feature Total Synthetic Jacket projectiles. A TSJ’s jacket is made of purple polymer instead of traditional gilding metal, and as the result fouls a bore less. The TSJ also generates less friction to lengthen a barrel’s lifespan, creates substantially less toxic vapor when fired, and reduces the chance of a ricochet putting a shooter in harm’s way.
rHST loads feature state of the art JHP projectiles. An HST bullet is tough enough to pass through heavy fabric, wallboard, and even steel without losing even one percent of its weight. As the bullet expands, it takes on the shape of a star to produce a devastating wound cavity without needlessly limiting the depth of penetration.
rThese rounds feature the new production casings, clean burning propellant charges, and sensitive primers that rewarding training and effective self-defense both demand. They’re one of the best ways to prepare for the worst!
