rThis cartridge takes a simple approach to transferring thousands of foot-pounds of kinetic energy to its target: a 624 grain full metal jacket projectile, which has a boat tail that helps it conserve velocity thousands of yards downrange. The FMJ’s jacket itself is nonmagnetic, but you couldn’t say the same of the bullet’s steel core.
