This 12 Gauge shotshell from Hornady LE’s TAP line of ammunition generates exceptionally low recoil. It does this thanks in part to its low muzzle velocity: 985 fps out of an 18†barrel, or 1,100 fps out of a 30†barrel. That will give you a great advantage if you favor a lightweight pump action for home defense, as you’ll be able to accurately direct rapid fire without a great kick to throw off the bead you’ve lined up.
rThis shell is loaded with eight pellets of double-aught. Even at lower speeds, the .33†lead spheres are able to wreak absolute H. E. double hockey sticks on a human-sized target. It’s an inherently accurate shell as well: An 18†barrel can keep its shot within a 2.7†circle at 15 yards. This shell’s blue hull clearly distinguishes it from most other full-power loads, and its reliable explosive components are the ones to count on when you’re the only thing separating your family from danger.
